ABOUT US…
Randy Carr (our Executive
Director) has over 12 years of experience as a Social Worker
with the City of Phoenix. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology
and has received special training in Cultural Awareness and
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention from the City of Phoenix.
He was a case worker for the
City of Phoenix Youth-build program for 9 years. During that
time he acted as an advocate for each participant working
closely with the community; human service agencies, health and
criminal justice courts. He monitored program attendance,
ensured that the budget was in accordance with participant
stipend payments, and reported progress of participants and
program out comes. He was instrumental in the continuing ongoing
design, enhancement and implementation of the Youth-build
training program service delivery model. He also served as a
liaison between the City of Phoenix and collaborating agencies
and was responsible for the supervision of 36- 55 volunteers in
various settings.
For the last three years, he has been providing case management
and skill building services for families in the City of Phoenix
Step-up program. He helps identify barriers to employment and
assesses education, work experience and family situations. He
assists with establishing vocational, employment and educational
goals and monitors progress of all ongoing cases. And as before,
he continuously participates in the ongoing design, enhancements
and implementation of the STEP- UP program service delivery
model.
At The
Kirpa Center, Mr. Carr has helped implement a six point program
to help youth
aging out of the foster care (ages 17-21) make a successful
transition to responsible, independent adulthood.
